With the addition of a new basement level and loft conversion this mid-terrace London townhouse was extended and fully renovated to form a large 6-storey modern family home. Internally a series of considered design interventions enhance the functionality and ambience of the spaces. Examples include an illuminated barrel-vaulted ceiling in the kitchen instilling a touch of subtle drama to the space, a large sliding pocket door between two children’s bedrooms allowing the rooms to be connected when desired and a gym space at the top of the house with a glass roof. The house also conceals a few surprises such as hidden entertainment rooms and a large resin floored basement play area, complete with swings. A rich and luxurious palette of materials were used in a paired back manner resulting in a truly unique family home that is sophisticated and playful in equal measures.

This Edwardian property was extended to the rear, internally remodelled and refurbished throughout. The rear garden was also re-landscaped to provide a better connection with the house and external ground levels were altered to increase the amount of natural light entering the lower ground floor spaces. A strong palette of contrasting materials was used internally to create a clean and contemporary look in the living spaces at lower ground and ground floor levels, adding a touch more warmth and luxury to the master suite and a pop of colour to the children's rooms on the top floor.
